Tutti Frutti?
Well, partly as homage to the site's history – the plots are in Ancoats, ‘Little Italy’, home to Manchester’s burgeoning 19th Century Italian community, the centre of ice, the centre of cream - the coolest city’s own centre of cool. We could have called it the Penny Lick or the Hokey Pokey but Tutti Frutti seemed just the ticket.
Tutti Frutti too, because we want the building plots, to be built side-by-side, to be as different, extravagant, fruity, flamboyant, polite, quiet, considered or restrained as possible. We want you to build us a remarkable new street in a remarkable new place.
