New East Manchester
New East Manchester Ltd (NEM) was established in early 2000, as one of the first Urban Regeneration Companies in the UK, to counteract this decline. NEM’s aim is to bring together public agencies, voluntary and community organisations, along with the private sector, to deliver the investment necessary to regenerate 1900 hectares east of Manchester City Centre.
NEM set ambitious targets to increase the population, improve the economy, education and transportation to create a thriving and sustainable community.
